We’re building a militant queer organization in Texas, heavily focused on the fringes of queerness: gender variant people of color, single mothers, and those of us with other forms of chosen family.
We’re influenced by the trans*feminist militants who came before us: Sylvia Rivera and STAR, Emi Koyama, Leslie Feinberg, Mattilda Bernstein Sycamore; Assata Shakur and the Black Nationalist, the Young Lords, SNCC; Silvia Federici, Rosa Luxemburg, Raya Dunayavskaya, Selma James and the Johnson Forest Tendency and many others.
We’re fighting in our own interests because we know that we are the only ones capable of liberating ourselves.
We’re writing this blog to practice critically looking at our everyday experiences that are seemingly void of gendered politics. Applying the queer and revolutionary theory we study in groups, we aim to develop a space for ourselves and others to explore how theory is created in our day to day struggles for liberation.
We’re hir we’re queer, y’all!
Yall might be interested in this organization, if you havent heard of it already.
